Coastal communities across Southern California are preparing for another round of high tides and powerful surf expected Monday. In Long Beach, crews are working on an $11 million dredging project to widen the beach and create a protective buffer against incoming waves. The project aims to widen Alamitos Bay by 100 to 200 feet, but it could take months to complete.
