LONG BEACH, CA — An A-Line Metro train struck a person Wednesday afternoon, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

At about 6: 20 p.m. Los Angeles Metro announced there was a train-person incident at Long Beach Boulevard and 8th Street. LBPD advised residents to avoid Northbound Long Beach Boulevard between 8th Street and 10th Street while law enforcement investigates the collision.

Metro riders can expect up to 15 minutes of delays due to the incident. A shuttle train is available in the Long Beach Loop between Anaheim and 5th Street stations, Metro said.
