• Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses related to Behavioral Neuroscience/Biological Psychology

• Demonstrated potential for mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students

• Demonstrated ability and commitment to develop and maintain an active research program in Behavioral Neuroscience using rat model systems

• Demonstrated potential or evidence of research and scholarly productivity as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations

• Research emphasis in, but not limited to, motivated behaviors, learning, or addiction, and research expertise in utilizing cellular and molecular approaches to address fundamental questions in Behavioral Neuroscience

• Demonstrated commitment to mentoring first-generation and underrepresented college students (e.g., involving undergraduates in faculty-directed research and/or mentoring undergraduate students in independent research)

• Interest in developing hands-on undergraduate teaching experiences to foster engagement in Behavioral Neuroscience research (lab-based undergraduate courses)

• Interest in or evidence of involvement in undergraduate training grants for student engagement

• Interest in the Master of Arts in Psychological Research program through chairing master's thesis projects, involving graduate students in faculty-directed research, and teaching graduate-level courses related to Behavioral Neuroscience.

• Potential for or experience in securing external research grants

• Demonstrated commitment to and/or experience in contributing to service at the department, university, community, or professional level

• Experience of successfully working with populations demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body (Demographics)

• Teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Behavioral Neuroscience [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.].

• Establish an independent research program and engage in research, scholarly and creative activities in Behavioral Neuroscience, leading to publications

• Participate in significant service to the department, college, university, and community
