Officials at Long Beach Airport (LGB) are advising travelers to allow extra time getting to and through the terminal, as a surge in holiday traffic and ongoing construction could cause delays.

As spring break kicks into high gear, LGB is bracing for increased traveler volume. "Our award-winning Long Beach Airport stands out as a trusted place to launch or land for spring break getaways," Mayor Rex Richardson said, "This year, as you prepare for your travels, please plan for a little extra time, to account for peak travel periods and ensure a smooth journey,” the official Long Beach City press release reports. Busy times at the airport are expected to reach their peak on Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays, as an estimated 15,000 passengers are set to fly on the busiest days.

Travelers are advised to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flights, particularly during the high-traffic window from March 29 to April 1 and April 5 to 7. LGB authorities emphasise planning ahead for a less stressful experience, suggesting the use of free Cell Phone Waiting Lots for those picking up arriving guests. Both lots are conveniently located at the northwest and southwest corners of Lakewood Boulevard and E. Donald Douglas Drive.
