Upcoming events and activities for people to enjoy. The Long Beach, South Bay areas are seeing various events, including a virtual workshop led by Philip Chang at the Cancer Support Community South Bay (virtual) and a silent auction of books. The Aquarium of the Pacific Teen Science Cafe, where Whale Bioacoustics is being taught, will be held at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library in Long Beach. The New Works Festival will also feature performances by Long Beach Playhouse Studio Collaborative and The Prince of Egypt. The Walking Jews Hike will take place in Palos Verdes on Saturday afternoon. The Silent Auction of Books is taking place at Downey City Library, with in-person and telephonic bids being accepted until the silent auction closes at noon.
